2008 Letter to the Editor    Donations in Support of the Soup Supper    Thanks for the Great Music

*Soup Supper, 2008 – CCFC’s Signature Event – Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, 4:00 – 7:00 P.M.

September was again time for CCFC to invite you to enjoy with us,  homemade soups made by  our active  members, cookies made by supportive contributors and through the generosity of many businesses who donate coffee, wine, beer, bread, salad, linens and decorative items, an evening at the Monday Club.

A special thanks to the wonderful Trio who provided the musical entertainment - Stephen Rice: percussion guitar and vocals, Rashanii: female vocalist, Michael Hocking: guitar base and vocals.  You were fabulous!

A big THANK YOU to all who continue to purchase  tickets and come to this event.  CCFC members work very hard selling tickets, preparing dinner and setting up the Monday Club, and then serving dinner and finally cleaning it all up.

2007 Soup Supper

Letter to the Editor-2008

The GENEROSITY and DEDICATION of our SLO community is again demonstrated with the success of the Central Coast Funds for Children Annual Soup Supper held Sunday, Sept. 21st.  CCFC has raised and additional nearly $15,000 available for funding children's grant recipient organizations in SLO County.  CCFC's Active, Supportive and Trustee members with other generous friends prepared delicious soups, salad, bread, cookies and desserts.  Without the support of our business community and others it couldn't be done.

We appreciate donations from Starbucks Coffee, San Luis Sourdough, Drake Farms, Santa Maria Produce, Trader Joe's, Von's Market, Scolari's Albertsons, Sav-on, Cosco, Mission Linens, United Rentals, Smart & Final, First Presbyterian Church, St. Stephan's Episcopal Church, Glacier Ice Company, Pacific Beverage, Claiborne & Churchill Winery, Cerro Caliente Cellars, Kynsi Winery, Larry & Jeanette Meek, Meridian Vineyards, Per Bacco Cellars, Stephen Ross Wine Cellars and Tolosa Winery.

With the help of AmeriCorps Promise Fellows: Adam Serafin, Jessica Chang, Jessica Merrill, Kiki Miller, Amanda Richardson-Fritch, Heather Demosthenes, Megan Murphy and Maria Harkelroad, it proves that the volunteer spirit is alive and well throughout our community.

To all who buy tickets and enjoy this special evening, thank you for coming.  We look forward to seeing you again next year.

Leslie Friedman and Sue Carpine, Co-Chairs
