Synopsis

Join the ultimate stage mother, Mama Rose, as she manages her daughter’s tour across the United States during the 1920’s, when vaudeville was dying and burlesque was born. Jule Styne’s music and Stephen Sondheim’s lyrics include classics like “Let Me Entertain You,” “Some People,” “You’ll Never Get Away from Me,” and “Everything’s Coming Up Roses.” A musical you won’t want to miss!

“From its pulse-racing overture to its knockout finale, ‘Gypsy’ is one of those great, glorious musicals that can be enjoyed repeatedly thanks to its tremendous score, compelling showbiz story and splendid opportunities for front-rank artists to strut their stuff.” - Michael Sommers, The Star-Ledger

“The show itself is a miracle, one of the top contenders for the title of Best Musical Ever.” - Terry Teachout, The Wall Street Journal

*California Pizza Kitchen Benefits

Because of the generosity of California Pizza Kitchen, DDFD was able to add $943.00 to our Grant Recipient program in 2007. CPK, on three Tuesdays in 2008 (March 18 July 15, and October 21), again donated 20% of the cost of food ordered and enjoyed by CCFC coupon holders.  CCFC realized a total of $1,212.94.

Having a wonderful meal at CPK and helping children in SLO County makes for a very pleasant experience.

Please join us next year!  The first date in 2009 is January 13th.
